The Centre for Social Development, University of Johannesburg, includes research into disability and social welfare.

Where can you find South African research on Rehabilitation?
National Health Research Database  is a repository of health-related research which has been, or is currently being, conducted in South Africa. Search function includes: title, objective, location (province, hospital), burden of disease. 
Burden of disease: search had to be very broad e.g. mental health, child.
Project Objectives: could find condition specific research as well as burden of disease e.g. DALY, disability, and by profession e.g. OT

Research Gate:  open to researcher, NGO, or as a person wanting information e.g. a health reporter. As a non-researcher you can download the citation and request copies of article from author. Search function includes: topic (Rural Health, OT etc), or person, or publication. There are local and international papers on “rural rehabilitation” and you can browse without registering.

SAbinet:  is a library management system and repository of information including online journals, current and completed research projects, theses and dissertations. You have to subscribe to the service and get different levels of access depending on whether you are a researcher or not
