RuReSA is delighted to announce the launch of an Award to recognize inspirational people working in rural rehabilitation. The Award will be inaugurated at the Rural Conference, September 2014.

- Inspire therapists to contribute to rural rehabilitation
- Create awareness of excellence in rural rehabilitation practice
- Provide opportunity for the nominee to share their rural rehabilitation knowledge and skills
criteria for nomination
The nominee should be:
- A member of RuReSA
- Currently working in the field of rural rehabilitation
- In the past 2 years shown excellence or innovation in any of the following areas of rural rehabilitation:
- Development of “best practice skills” in the rehabilitation unit
- Innovative or efficient and effective use of available resources
- Extending sustainable CBR services or developing new CBR services
- Commitment to multidisciplinary team (MDT) development and fostering team spirit
- Developing partnerships with people with disability in the community
- Empowering people with disabilities to become active in Disability Rights
- Worked with local communities to change physical access or social acceptability in that community with tangible benefits for children and adults with disability
- Rural research focusing on “best practice” models
- To have made an outstanding contribution to the life of a person with disability
