Jana Müller is a qualified Physiotherapist with a clinical masters in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy from Stellenbosch University and Progressive Goal Attainment Programme Practitioner (PGAP). She currently works as the Allied Health Sciences Coordinator for the Ukwanda, Rural Clinical School, Stellenbosch University, Worcester, she is also a part time clinical lecturer for final year physiotherapy students in the community in Worcester for Stellenbosch University and coordinates Interprofessional Education, Collaboration and Practice at the Rural Clinical School.
Jana has a special interest in decentralized clinical training, community engagement and service learning as well as the management of chronic pain and illness as a rehab practitioner. Her love for rural started with an elective in KZN and grew deeper during her community service year in Mpumalanga at Shongwe Mission Hospital in 2005. Due to the shortage of government physiotherapy posts she opened a private practice in rural Drakensberg and got involved with a local NGO, Isibani. Jana’s passion for rural healthcare and appropriate clinical education led her to the first African Rural Clinical School where clinical training of final year Allied Health and Medical students has taken place since 2011.
